Career history: up to June 2002 he was a Partner-Director of Territorial Economics with Consultants to Public Authorities, belonging to the International Financial Analysts Group. At present he is the Director of the Studies and Research Department of Exceltur, the "Alliance for Excellence in Tourism".

He won the National Town Planning Award in 2006, as a member of the working party of the Territorial plan of the island of Menorca, and he has been chosen to form part of the Group of experts of the Spanish Strategic Tourism Plan Timeline 2020.

In recent years he has worked in the world of tourism, where he has directed and participated in numerous projects. Some of the most important have been: "Impacts on territory, society, the economy and employment of the various tourism models of the Mediterranean coastline and the Balearic and Canary Islands"; "Report on the Outlook for Tourism"; "MoniTUR", the Monitor of Competitiveness in Tourism of the Autonomous Communities; "The Island of Menorca Territorial Plan"; "Competitiveness Plan for the Islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera"; "Galician Tourism Strategy with an Eye to 2010"; "Study on the Impact of the Euro on the Canary Islands' economy and tourism".
